Finances

Basic financial policy and health insurance

Most patients must pay at the time of service. All major credit cards are accepted, except for American Express.

If we determine that you have insurance coverage for our services, we will bill your insurance company, do all the paperwork for you, and we will follow-up underpaid claims, even appealing denials if necessary.

Most insurance companies are supposed to reimburse our patients for most of our services. Speak to your physician for details. We are, by choice, out-of-network providers. You must have out-of-network benefits to receive reimbursement for our services. HMO or EPO type policies do not have out-of-network benefits. We may be able to take on assignment some Federal Employee insurance such as GEHA.

Medicare, Medicaid, and military CHAMPUS/TriCare coverages do not cover our services. Common Medicare Medigap supplement policies do not cover our services. Some "Advantage Plan" Medicare replacement policies may cover, if they are not HMO type policies. Some better policies held by corporate or state retirees of Medicare age may reimburse for our services. Let us check. We are able to take on assignment the insurance of Federal Government retirees with GEHA insurance.

Bring your insurance card(s) to your initial evaluation.

For litigated cases or work injuries, see below.

Auto accidents and other personal injuries

We are usually very willing to work with cases that involve automobile accidents or other personal injuries.

Auto Med Pay

Auto med pay is also known as automobile medical payments, auto medical insurance, or PIP – a personal injury policy for medical care after a car crash. It is health insurance associated with many but not all auto insurance policies. It most commonly provides for $2,000 to $5,000 or possibly much more coverage for each person in a given auto accident. We would need to know if there is auto med pay on your own auto insurance policy, the policy of another person who owns the car, a policy of a member of your household, or the policy of a person that was driving you as a passenger. We would also need to know the amount of med pay on the policy and the amount still unused and available. If available med pay coverage is confirmed, we are willing to bill the med pay and accept that as payment, up to the amount available. You are, of course, ultimately responsible for your bill.

No Med Pay/After Med Pay Is Exhausted

You are responsible at the time of service for charges beyond what all available med pay policies cover. If you have an attorney, we may agree to await settlement of your case for payment. You are, of course, ultimately responsible for your bill.

Workers' Compensation

We are willing to work with Workers Compensation cases. If you have a WC or work comp claim, call and talk with us. We may need to confirm coverage ahead of time.
